2024-02-21@9:34pm–#Shelton CT– A homeowner on Cedar Hill Road called emergency services to report smoke coming from her attic. Firefighters arrived and reported smoke coming from the attic and one house/line is in operation at the time of this writing.

2024-02-19@3:40pm–#Naugatuck CT– #MTA — One person is in custody after a stabbing in Naugatuck on a northbound MTA train. The train was heading toward Waterbury.

2024-02-17@4:14pm–#Shelton CT– A strong-armed robbery occurred in the parking lot at the Starbucks, Bridgeport Avenue in Shelton. The suspect took the item and fled in a black Mercedes SUV.

2024-02-13@9:42pm–#Derby CT–First responders are on the scene on 6th Avenue for an assault. There are no other details at this time.

Shelton Police investigate Fatal Accident

On 02/09/2024 at approximately 1:00 PM, Shelton Police and Shelton EMS were
dispatched to School St. in the area of Monroe St. on a report of a pedestrian struck.
Police, Fire, and EMS responded to the scene and located an unresponsive male, later
identified as 29-year-old Erick Irizarry of Waterbury, CT, who was pronounced deceased
on scene.
An investigation by Shelton Accident Reconstruction Team revealed that Irizarry was
working in the area for Asplundh Tree Service and was struck by a work vehicle. The
Office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified and
responded to the scene.
The accident is actively under investigation by the Shelton Police Department
Reconstruction Team.

#Ansonia: On February 7, 2024 at about 12:30 P.M. the Ansonia Police Department responded to the 300 block of Main Street to investigate a reported stabbing. First responding officers found a female suffering from a stab wound to the upper body. The female was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is in stable condition. The suspect was identified as a neighbor of the victim, William Petaway. Officers were able to make contact with Petaway on the phone and he agreed to return to Ansonia where he was taken into custody without incident.

William Petaway, age 50, of Ansonia was charged with Criminal Attempt at Murder, Assault Second Degree, and Threatening Second Degree. He is being held on a $750,000.00 bond and will be arraigned at Derby Superior Court on February 8, 2024.
