#Westport, CT --The Town of Westport has experienced numerous vehicle break-ins during the month of December. In all cases of vehicles being entered, which resulted in thefts, the doors were unlocked. The recent thefts have occurred overnight. The Westport Police Department reminds you to please lock your car and bring your keys inside. Please remember to take valuables out of your car for the night,such as cash, purses, wallets and electronics. It is also good practice to keep outside lights on and motion lights activated. Westport News: Fraud Investigation

#Westport Connecticut--At approximately 3:24pm on December 9, 2016, police were contacted by an employee from the Verizon Wireless Zone located at 385 Post Road East. The employee was reporting that a female customer had attempted to purchase a cell phone upgrade with what appeared to be a fraudulent New Jersey Operator’s License and a fraudulent credit card. The employee became suspicious of the transaction and attempted to take steps to verify the account holder’s identity. The store had also been notified by a Norwalk branch that the same female had also attempted an apparently fraudulent transaction at their store within the last hour. Westport Police: Stolen Car Arrest

On December 5th, 2016, Westport PD Officer’s Fearon and Sabin were working a side job on King’s Hwy. North, when they overheard a broadcast for a stolen car out of Stratford. The Officer’s observed the vehicle a short time later and stopped the vehicle without incident. The two occupants were detained and an investigation was initiated. The following suspects were arrested: Artay Drinks (DOB: 12/22/72) of 23 Murray St. in Ansonia Naima West (DOB: 07/27/1980) of 702 Central Ave. in Bridgeport and charged with the following crimes: Drinks was charged with Larceny 3 rd Degree and 21a-279a, Possession of Narcotics West was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Larceny 3rd Drinks is being held on $10,000 bond at Westport PD. Westport News: One Dead One Injured In Fall From Roof

#Westport, Connecticut-- On 12/04/16 at approximately 12:45pm, the Westport Police, Westport Fire Department and Westport Emergency Medical Services responded to a Norwalk Avenue address on a report that two male workers fell off a three story roof. Responding units found one of the fall victims deceased on scene. The other fall victim was transported to Norwalk Hospital with life threatening injuries. The Westport Police Patrol Division, Detective Bureau, and OSHA continue to investigate the incident. At this time, no foul play is suspected. UPDATE: Messiah was located today at approximately 2:30pm by the Westport Police Department at a home in New York City. Westport Officers, the FBI, US Marshalls and surrounding Police Departments have been working this case with high priority. Information was developed that Messiah may have been brought to a relative’s home in Manhattan. Westport Detectives responded to Manhattan and found Messiah in good health. Messiah is being transported back to Connecticut and will be turned over to the Department of Children and Families. Norwalk News: Crash That Closed The Merritt

This evening at 7:42PM the Westport Fire Department received a call for the accident with injuries on the Merritt Parkway Northbound between Exit 41 and Exit 42. The Westport Fire Department responded with Engine 2, Rescue 3 and Car 3 with a total of 8 firefighters and officers. Units arrived to find the Connecticut State Police on scene with a 3 vehicle accident involving two cars and a tow truck with 6 injured, 3 with serious injuries and 3 with non-life threating injuries. All of the injured were out of the vehicles and Westport Firefighters began treating them.
