Bridgeport Christmas Tree Pick Up

Bridgeport, CT – Christmas tree collection will begin on Monday, January 6, 2020. Tree pick-up will begin on resident’s scheduled Recycling Day.  City officials request that residents do not put trees outside prior to the designated collection day as they can be buried by snow or blown into streets causing a safety hazard.  Every year, the trees that are collected are brought to the city landfill to be repurposed as mulch and used in parks throughout Bridgeport.   CHRISTMAS TREE PICKUP GUIDELINES Place trees curbside at 6:00 a.m. on Recycling Day. Bridgeport News: School Threats

#Bridgeport CT--The Bridgeport Police were contacted by a school official Thursday 1/2/20 at approximately 7:00 am regarding a principal who was notified by a student, about a threatening post that allegedly was sent to several students via Snapchat.  The threat posted on social media (Snapchat) was directed at several city schools.   Upon reviewing the information Bridgeport Police SRO's, specifically Officer Rondell Jones and Officer Thiago Reaes conducted a swift and extensive investigation under the direction of Sgt. Marlon Campo, with assistance from Sgt. Angelo Collazo. Westport News: Fraudulent Check Charges

#Westport CT-- On Monday December 23, 2019 at approximately 4:11pm, officers responded to TD Bank, located at 185 Main Street, on a complaint of a female customer attempting to cash a fraudulent check in the amount of $988.00. Bank employees further reported that prior to this attempt, the bank had received a fraud alert email advising that this same female accompanied two other males had been involved in recent fraudulent activity in neighboring jurisdictions earlier that day. This informational message reported the suspects were traveling in a silver sport utility vehicle.
