Man Dies In Tree Accident in Trumbull
Police UPDATE: The department can confirm that on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at approximately 3:20 PM that Trumbull Police and EMS responded to 155 White Plains Road for a tree cut accident that resulted in the death of a sixty-six-year-old male. Trumbull Police and EMS arrived at the scene minutes after receiving the initial 911 call, but the male had succumbed to his injuries suffered by a large tree branch.Emergency responders were called after a man was fatally injured in a tree-related accident on White Plains Road in Trumbull. Details about how the incident occurred and the identity of the victim have not yet been released. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident
Body Recovered From Water At Norwalk Docks
On Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at 9:14 AM, Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a male in the water at 50 Water Street. Officers from the Norwalk Police Department Patrol Division, along with the Department’s Marine Unit, were immediately dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, patrol officers located an adult male in the water at the boating docks behind 50 Water Street. The individual was determined to be deceased at the time he was located. Detectives from the Norwalk Police Department Detective Bureau, assisted by the Marine Unit, subsequently recovered the individual from the water. Owner Lugo shared that he first started cutting hair at just 12 years old, simply trying to earn lunch money. That was 32 years ago, and the passion he found back then has grown into a long-standing local business. The ribbon-cutting ceremony began with a prayer dedicating the shop to the Lord, followed by a small celebration with about 25 family members who gathered to support Lugo and his business. Bridgeport Fugitive Found Hiding Under Trash Bags, Arrested by Task Force
On February 27, 2026, the Bridgeport Police Task Force—comprised of local, state, and federally assigned investigators—was notified that Wilber Martinez, 38, of Bridgeport, failed to appear for a scheduled court date on February 11. As a result of his failure to appear, arrest warrants were issued. Martinez had previously been released on a $500,000 court-set bond following his August 2023 arrest on several charges including two counts of Manslaughter with a Motor Vehicle, six counts of Reckless Endangerment, two counts of Risk of Injury to a Child, Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence, Reckless Driving, speeding over 70 MPH, driving without a license, and additional motor vehicle-related offenses. On March 2, 2026, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Fairfield Police responded to a report of an armed robbery at News Express, located at 200 Tunxis Hill Road in Fairfield. The store was open at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported.
