Service Member Benefits

WASHINGTON, DC] – U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Sherrod Brown (D-OH), and Jon Tester (D-MT) introduced legislation to restore eligibility to servicemembers seeking to transfer their educational benefits to dependents. Last summer, the Department of Defense issued a new policy that requires servicemembers to commit an additional four years of military service at the time of their application to transfer benefits. The policy change also prevents servicemembers with more than sixteen years of military service from transferring education benefits to their eligible dependents. Previously, any servicemember who had served for six years was eligible to transfer their benefits to an eligible dependent. Bridgeport News: Romantic Sunset Manhunt After Pursuit

UPDATE: The pursuit exited in Black Rock down towards Captain's Cove coming to an end at St. Mary's by the Sea.  There was a short teen-hunt, police quickly apprehended four boys and one girl after a brief search.  I over-heard the owner of the car saying it was the second time it was stolen.     2019-09-21@6:37pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A pursuit starting on Fairfield Avenue wound up on I-95 northbound exiting East Main now going southbound on I-95.

Stratford News: Person Shot

UPDATE: Chief McNeil said they are following up leads and the victim is in stable condition. 12:03am--#Stratford CT-- A person has been shot outside the sports bar at 1212 Stratford Avenue.  Initial radio reports say the person was shot in the chest.  Police are looking for a black male who fled in a burgundy vehicle.  There at least four sell casings in the middle of the road.
