Lamont Wants Special Session On Restaurant Workers

HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont is urging the members of the Connecticut General Assembly to meet in special session as soon as possible to adopt legislation his administration developed following a series of meetings this summer with the leaders of each legislative caucus to address the ongoing issue of wages for restaurant workers.   In a letter delivered yesterday afternoon to legislative leaders, the governor explained that the proposal strikes a proper balance while protecting workers with legitimate claims to unpaid wages. Bridgeport News: Homicide Arrest

#Bridgeport CT-- This morning members of the Bridgeport Police Department arrested Richard Brown (DOB: 11/11/92) and served him with an arrest warrant in connection to the September 1, 2019 homicide of Jose Perez-Ortiz at the corner of Noble Avenue and Shelton Street. Brown is charged with Manslaughter in the First Degree, Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit, and Criminal Possession of a Firearm. He is held on a $750,000 bond. This arrest is the result of the outstanding work done by the lead detective, Martin Heneau, and the many others that assisted him, including our Fugitive Task Force detectives, Nick Grasso and Adam Rosco.

Bridgeport News: Home Invasion

2019-09-22 #Bridgeport CT-- A Yarington Court homeowner said two females knocked on a woman's door  around 3 A.M. Sunday morning, then pulled out a gun and forced her into the house. Police  say the woman was tied up and held against her will for several hours, with the suspect eventually letting her go and making away with an undisclosed amount of money. Bridgeport News: Water Rescue Save 2 Kids, 2 Adults

2019-09-22@5:33pm--#Bridgeport CT--A jet ski that overturned with two children, all had life jackets on were rescued by the police marine unit at Seaside Park. A kayaker who attempted to rescue the children also overturned. Fortunately the also had life jackets on. The police marine unit arrived on scene and was able to rescue them all. The owner of the jet-ski righted the vessel and went on his way after bringing in the kayak according to Assistant Fire Chief Richard Donofrio. The video indicated 3 children but the chief called me with the correct totals of 2 kids, 2 adults being rescued.
