On 07/13/2018 at approximately 10:00pm, officers were dispatched to a Westport residence on a report of chemicals that had been sprayed on the victim's backyard garden area from over her property's fence line. The victim arrived home and smelled the strong odor of a chemical on her property. An oily film was observed on her garden plants and her vegetable garden plants. In addition, two portions of her wooden fence were damaged. The Westport Fire Department was called to the scene to investigate the odor and oil-based liquid. #Westport CT--On 08/27/2018, the victim reported he was being harassed by John Colavito over a business dispute involving an annuity. Colavito and the victim had a meeting in July regarding the issue and since then, the victim reported to have received multiple emails and text messages from him. Colavito was found to have emailed the victim 54 times between 7/18/18 and 8/21/2018; 21 of which were sent in one day. Some of the emails were found to be threatening in nature. The investigating officer submitted an arrest warrant application for Colavito, which was later approved.
