On 08/01/17 at approximately 11:45am, a sex assault occurred at Jennings Beach, in one of the walking paths that lead from the beach to the parking lot. The pathway was on the east side of the lot. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 19 years old, 5’10” to 6 feet tall, medium complexion, average build. He was wearing a bright red t-shirt, zip-fly shorts, and beige sandals. He was seen walking west on the beach with two other black males of similar age minutes before the assault. #Bridgeport, CT – Bridgeport Police today are reporting that following a traffic stop, officers arrested 35-year-old Federico Cannon of Bridgeport for illegal possession of a firearm and other charges. On July 31, 2017, Bridgeport Task Force/Narcotics Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop on a black Acura, which was occupied by the driver, later identified as Larae Crawford and front seat passenger, later identified as Federico Cannon, aka "Rico", born 06/07/82. During the stop, Cannon was observed making furtive movements and was removed from the vehicle for Officers Safety. Under his seat located a loaded nine millimeter, Sar Arms, Model SAR B6P, semiautomatic handgun. Cannon was placed under arrest and was transported to the Bridgeport Police Tactical Narcotics Team headquarters for processing. During…
At approximately 1:30 p.m. on July 19, 2017 the Westport Police were dispatched to the Bank of America located at 1815 Post Road East on a report of a male who had attempted to cash a fraudulent check. Prior to police arrival, the suspect had left the bank but we were advised that the suspect was last seen heading westbound on Post Road East driving a Volvo with New York plates. The car was located at Post Road East and Morningside Drive, and the operator was detained while this matter was being investigated further. #Westport CT--On July 19, 2017 at approximately 1130am, the Animal Control Officer (ACO) and police officers were dispatched to the Westport/Weston YMCA on a report of a dog left inside a vehicle. The caller was concerned because the outside temperature at the time of this call was into the 90s. When the ACO arrived, she immediately took temperature readings and found that the outside surface temperature of the vehicle was 136 degrees Fahrenheit and temperature inside the car was 113 degrees Fahrenheit. Worried that the animal was in imminent danger, the ACO entered the vehicle and removed the dog. Upon removal, the animal was panting heavily.
