Bridgeport News: Van Fire Extends To House Killing Family Dog

4:00AMish--#Bridgeport Connecticut-- The fire marshal is investigating a fire at 41 Lee Street.  Assistant Fire Chief Firpi said a van parked in the driveway caught fire and extended to the multi family home.   It is suspected that someone was living in the van and the mattress inside caught fire.  Those living in the van fled without calling 911.   The fire was up to the roof when firefighters arrived.  A family  dog is reported to have died in the fire.  Photo courtesy of ServPro.

On November 3, 2016 at 2:37 p.m., a Patrol Officer responded to the area of 14 Larsen Street for a man passed out in a vehicle. When the officer arrived, a male exited the vehicle, dropping a bag that contained crack cocaine. The male fled the scene on foot. A foot chase ensued with officers eventually catching the suspect in the backyard of 41 Concord Street. The bag, which was recovered at the scene, was found to contain (42)pieces of crack cocaine. The foot chase traversed Larsen Street, Merritt Street, Chestnut Street, the King Kennedy Housing Complex and Concord Street.
