Bridgeport, CT - Captain Porter announced today that the Bridgeport Police have arrested Laura Ramos, (DOB 3/23/86), of Pond Point Avenue, Milford, CT. Ramos, a teacher at Central High School was charged with sexual assault in the second degree. The charges stem from reports of an inappropriate sexual relationship with a male student. Ramos is held on a $50,000 bond and has a court date scheduled for June 28, 2017. The arrest was a collaboration of work by the BPD Detectives Bureau, School Resource Officers, and the Superintendent’s Office. This press release was made possible by:
Norwalk Detectives are investigating a commercial burglary at Rowayton Pizza on Rowayton Avenue that occurred during the overnight hours on June 10, 2017. The suspect broke out the front window with rocks and then entered the business. Once inside the suspect took the cash register before fleeing in a small sedan, possibly a Toyota. 7:11pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters quick response prevented this house fire at 1 Armstrong Place from becoming a major fire.. There were no reported injuries. The fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause.
5:00pm--#Bridgeport CT-- How about some likes for the Good Samaritan who called police to report that a child AND a dog were allegedly left in a car with the windows up at 4543 Main Street. The Good Samaritan remained on the phone and directed police as the driver of the car returned to the car and was attempting to leave. Police did apprehend the driver and were investigating. EMS was called to evaluate the child. There was no word on any arrests at this time.

#Norwalk CT--Today Dr. Janice Duffy, Dr. Charlie Duffy and Sue Gabriele came to the Norwalk Police Department to present a check from the Norwalk Veterinary Hospital Fundraiser. The event, which was held in April 2017, raised money for the Norwalk Police K9 Unit and the Fairfield Police K9 Unit. The event raised $10,372.17 for the NPD K9 Unit. The same group presented a check to the Fairfield K-9 unit last week for the same amount.
