Westport CT– Missing Kayaker

(Westport, CT) At approximately 11:55 a.m. on this date, the Westport Police Department’s Communications Center received a 911 call from a concerned citizen regarding a kayaker possibly in distress. The caller reported that she observed a yellow kayak in the water and that a person appeared to be clinging to it. The area where the kayak was spotted was the waters off of Soundview Avenue. Officers were immediately dispatched to the area, and the first one on scene reported that he had located a yellow kayak washed up on the beach. #Westport-- On 05/09/17, the Westport Police Department announces the arrival of its new Marine vessel, Marine 1. The boat is an all season 10 meter NAIAD Marine Patrol Vessel. In 2012, after more than 14 years of service, the former Marine 1 was retired due to safety and mechanical issues. Since then, Police and Town personnel have worked diligently to acquire the vessel which arrived today. Norwalk News: Bank Robbery

Norwalk Detectives are investigating a bank robbery that occurred today, May 12, 2017, at 11:30a.m. at the First County Bank located at 700 Connecticut Avenue. The suspect entered the bank and handed the teller a note, implying she had a gun. The suspect is described as a light skin black female, in her late twenties or early thirties, approximately 5’4”, stocky build with short black hair pulled behind her neck in a bun or ponytail. The suspect was wearing black framed glasses and a blue Walmart employee vest. Bridgeport News: Pedestrian Hit And Killed

Bridgeport Police UPDATE: The Bridgeport Police Serious Crash Investigation Team was called out to investigate a car vs pedestrian hit and run collision that occurred at Boston Ave and Mill Hill Ave at approximately 4:11 pm. David P. Haddon, 80, 0f Bridgeport was crossing Boston Ave at Mill Hill Ave when he was struck by a Chevrolet Impala that was traveling west on Boston Ave.  The operator did not stop after striking Mr. Haddon.  He was transported to Bridgeport Hospital with severe head trauma and cervical spine trauma.  He succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 6:31pm.
