Bridgeport Free Electronic Recycling

Bridgeport, CT – Mayor Joseph Ganim is reminding residents that the City of Bridgeport offers free electronic recycling six days a week. Bridgeport residents may bring their unwanted electronics to the Bridgeport Recycling and Transfer Station located at 475 Asylum Street, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Residents are required to bring proof of residency. Accepted materials include, but are not limited to: Computers, Laptops, Printers, Fax Machines, Monitors, TVs, Cell Phones, Tablets, Video Games, Game Consoles, VCR/DVD Machines, Remotes, Keyboards, Computer Mice, Modems, Small Appliances, and Stereo Equipment. Fairfield News: Smoke Condition At Assumption School

8:32am--#Fairfield Connecticut-- Firefighters were called to a smoke condition at Assumption School at 605 Stratfield Road.  said they evacuated the school in to the church hall so the kids would not be exposed to the cold.  Firefighters discovered it was a motor to ventilation unit that burnt out causing the smoke condition.  Conditions were compounded as it was drop off time for the students and the "firefighters were pressed into becoming traffic cops" to help alleviate the situation Gomola said.  Firefighters quickly discovered the faulty motor and disconnected it.  Firefighters metered the entire school and found no unusual readings.  Classes resumed and the heating and air conditioning contractor was called to the school to replace the motor.   If it were…

Fairfield News: From the desk of First Selectman Michael Tetreau--I have been receiving many letters on this year’s budget proposal. I am attempting to read all the emails (close to 800 at last count). Since I will not be able to answer them all individually, I will do my best to respond to all concerns in a series of updates to the Fairfield budget update. It is my pleasure to announce the 2017 Congressional Art Competition, an annual, nation-wide art contest sponsored by the U.S. House of Representatives. I encourage all students in grades 9-12 who reside in or attend high school in Connecticut's Fourth Congressional District to participate. This is one of my favorite annual events, and meeting the student artists and their families is something I look forward to each spring. Entries are judged by a panel of local artists and representatives of arts organizations in Southwest Connecticut.
