#Westport Connecticut-- On Tuesday August 23, 2016 at approximately 2:19am officers responded to CVS Pharmacy, 397 Post Road East, on a complaint of suspicious persons within the store. It was reported by staff that an individual was attempting to purchase multiple gift cards on a credit card which was being declined. He was also reported to be accompanied by two other males. The suspects attempted to leave the store prior to police arrival, however a vehicle description was provided by employees. While responding to the call, officers observed a vehicle matching that description attempting to leave the parking lot. All of the occupants of the vehicle were subsequently identified. HARTFORD – In response to today’s announcement by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) that it will purchase $20 million worth of surplus dairy products to help stabilize the dairy market, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) urged USDA to do more to help dairy farmers. Farm milk prices have dropped almost 40%in the last few years—meaning Connecticut dairy farmers are struggling to bring in the revenues they need to stay afloat. 11:28am--#Bridgeport Connecticut-- A William Street woman called police that a white car was following her and felt the man inside the car was going to abduct her. She ran into her home and called police. She said the car was circling here block and stopping. She was able to get a licence plate number. Police were quick to the scene and located the car. The pulled the car over Noble Avenue, the car then backed into the police car. It is unknown if it was accidental or intentional. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and the victim positively identify the suspect.
