On August 10, 2016 a resident of the Canal Park Housing Complex located on Canal Road reported that an item was stolen from outside of her apartment sometime during the overnight hours. The investigating officer was able to develop a description of the suspect as well as the car that the suspect was driving. On August 11, 2016 at approximately 4:30 a.m. Cpl. Nowinski observed a vehicle entering Canal Park, which matched the description of the car that the larceny suspect was driving. Cpl. Nowinski ran the vehicle’s registration and discovered that the license plate affixed to the car had been reported stolen from North Carolina. The operator of the vehicle, Mechell Perry, was detained and subsequently arrested for Larceny in the 6 th Degree (as a…
