#Bridgeport CT--On August 1, 2015, Bridgeport and Fairfield PD responded to a fight and drowning at Chubby’s Bar and Restaurant at 3488 Fairfield Avenue. The victim was Wayne Bentley (2-26-73). On today’s date 1-12-16 an arrest warrant was secured and served, arresting Richard de Carvalho “Ricky D” (9-10-82). de Carvalho was charged with: Criminally Negligent Homicide in violation of Connecticut General Statute 53a-58 Assault 3rd in violation of Connecticut General Statute 53a-61 Breach of Peace 2nd degree in violation of Connecticut General Statute 53a-181. When a police officer leaves the academy they continue to get training on everything except police driving refresher courses, that is until now. The city of Bridgeport has invested in a simulator that will help assist both the police and fire department drive emergency vehicles in number of conditions, from rain to snow, drivers ignoring lights and sirens and kids running in front of their vehicle.
