Bridgeport News: Police Arrest Employee of Kitchen Remodeler for Embezzlement

#Bridgeport, CT – July 28, 2014 – A 24-year-old woman last week was charged with embezzling more than $50,000 from her employer. Detective Frank Podpolucha secured a warrant charging April Trowell, of Bridgeport, with first-degree larceny and first-degree computer crimes. Trowell was an employee at Hope Kitchen, a kitchen remodeling company located in the city. Her responsibilities included showing customers the showroom, gathering contact information and helping to design customers’ kitchens, in addition to responding to email, answering calls and ordering inventory. 6:30pm--#Bridgeport CT-- An attempted robbery occured by two teens, one with a gun at  and  Reservoir Avenue near Alba Avenue.  The driver was about to get gas at the gas station and the two teens approached him, displayed a gun and demanded money.  The driver was still in their car and drove off.  Police are investigating. Milford News: Smoke Condition at Hampton Inn

11:40am--#Milford CT--Firefighters investigating a smoke condition at the Hampton Inn at 129 Plains Road.  Firefighters found smoke in room 134 and have been busy checking to make sure there is no fire or that it is hidden anywhere in the walls.  Firefighters are in the process of ventilating the building now and metering for carbon monoxide in each room. Milford News: Gulf Station Robbed & Shot Up

11:14pm--#Milford CT--An armed robbery at the Gulf Gas Station at 305 New Haven Avenue just occurred.  Witnesses tell me shots were fired and bullet holes could be seen in the door glass as well as a bloodied rag.  One witness said a clerk was shot, but we cannot officially confirm this, however, EMS was dispatched at 11:07pm and they arrived at 11:12pm for a "medical" NOT a "GSW" which means Gun Shot Wound.  At 11:29 Milford Fire reported that one person was transported to Yale New Haven Hospital and one person standing by to give a statement to police.  I will post more information as it becomes available.  UPDATE: 1:15am--The police mobile command center arrives on scene.  UPDATE: The clerk was…
