On Thursday May 21st, 2015 Officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress to a residence on Grove Point Road. The complainant reported that a female had attempted to enter their residence. When the suspect could not gain entry because the door was locked, they watched her walk over to the neighbor’s house and enter his residence. Knowing that the homeowner was home when the suspect had entered the neighbor’s house the complainants attempted to call him while calling the police. Arriving officers located the suspect inside the residence. The homeowner had confronted the suspect and directed officers to her location. When I arrived about six minutes after hearing the call the 2nd floor and attic were fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters were already on scene and had begun an impressive interior attack that kept the fire confined to the second floor. I met with the first floor occupants, 3 males who made it out safely.
