Woman Faces Threatening Man With Knife, Peas
#Bridgeport, CT – March 17, 2014 – A city woman faces charges after threatening a neighbor with a knife and pot of boiling peas. The victim and suspect both live in a rooming house at 941 Noble Ave. The victim, 57, told Officers Thomas Kristy and Michael Stanitis that he provided some food to the suspect to prepare for him because she is a good cook. But when he returned to the common kitchen, the suspect, Mercedes Bowman, 35, started to throw his food out. She then threatened him with a kitchen knife and to throw a pot of boiling water on him. 9:50pm--#Milford CT--#cttraffic--I-95 exit 36 northbound ramp is closed due to a fuel spill. A tractor trailer apparently has a split fuel tank and has leaked on to the ramp. Approximately 80 gallons remain in the tank. Milford Hazmat on the scene attempting to stop the leak. Department of Energy and Environmental Protection called to the scene.
