Mayor Finch Declares Snow Emergency for 12:01 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 2 Alternate side of the street parking rules in effect BRIDGEPORT, CT (December 31, 2013) – Due to the upcoming projected winter, Mayor Bill Finch has declared a snow emergency in the City beginning at 12:01 a.m., Thursday, January 2.  During a snow emergency, residents must move their cars off posted Snow Emergency streets or be subject to fines and towing. Mother Leaves Children at Home to Go to Club

#Bridgeport, CT – Dec. 30, 2013 – A City woman faces child endangerment charges after she left her three children at home alone to go to a club. Officers Juan Esquilin and Mathew Szymczak on Sunday responded at 2:30 a.m. to a Boston Avenue address on a report of children being left unattended in the home. Police spent more about 30 minutes knocking on the front and then rear door. At that point, they heard the sound of people entering the apartment. They continued to knock and Mycheral Walker, 35, answered the door. Police entered the apartment to check on the welfare of the children and located two girls, ages 1 and 4, and a boy, 13. This weekends shooting victims ID’d

(Bridgeport, CT – Dec. 30, 2013) – Police identified two victims who were shot early Sunday. The shootings do not appear to be related and both victims are expected to recover. The first happened at 1:02 a.m. in the 200 block of Pequonnock Street.  The victim,  Mireteab Berhe, 30, of Bridgeport, suffered a gunshot wound to his right foot. A witness provided a general description of the shooter but police located no one in the area. At 2:38 a.m., in  the 1000 block of Kossuth Street  police located  victim, David Rodriguez, 26, of Bridgeport, with a gunshot wound to his left knee. Rodriguez stated that he was outside smoking a cigarette when the occupant of a dark colored vehicle fired a shot at him. No arrests…

Westport woman found in river was hit by train

Westport, CT- Following information concerning injuries to Annette White which was received from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME), Westport Police Department detectives began to review video footage of the Saugatuck train station. Review of video footage of the Saugatuck River Bridge showed a westbound Metro North Railroad train stop on the bridge for approximately 20 minutes on December 26th. This morning detectives also received a call from someone who had been a passenger on the same train and who had watched news reports of the incident on television. The caller advised that the train made an emergency stop on the railroad trestle over the Saugatuck River just prior to the Saugatuck train station. The caller said that…
