Pipe bomb goes off in Bridgeport
9:30ish #Bridgeport CT--Police are investigating a pipe bomb that went off in blue mail box across from Testo's at end of Savoy & Madison. No one injured.
GAS Odor in North End
Fairview Ave from Main Street to Lindley Street,many of the homes have a strong odor of gas inside their homes. B.F.D. Engine 12 on scene with the gas company investigating. If you smell gas in you home contact 911- open a window to ventilate and NO OPEN FLAMES. UNRELATED INCIDENT: Bridgeport Police and B.F.D. are investigating a report of mailbox exploding at Madison and Savoy.
Two armed robberies at two different locations
4:33pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Report of an armed robbery, one male in a light green jacket robbed a person for his cell phone, He has a fake gun and punched the victim. Report of a robbery near Curiale School on Laurel Avenue, one male with a black sweatshirt and another in a grey sweatshirt.

Detectives Investigate Overnight Homicide
#Bridgeport, CT – Dec. 16, 2013 – Detectives are investigating an early morning homicide in which a 21-year-old man was fatally shot. It was the 12th homicide in the City this year. At approximately 2 a.m., patrol officers responded to the area of Poplar Street and Maplewood Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle accident. Officers located a silver Nissan Pathfinder on Poplar, just south of Maplewood. The vehicle had crossed the centerline of the street, striking a parked truck head on. Located inside of the vehicle was DeWayne Gardner, of Bridgeport. Upon further investigation it was determined that Gardner had been shot in the torso. 12:00am--#Redding CT #Easton CT--Police respond to a report of shots fired in the Redding/Easton line on Sport Hill Road. Redding police discover a utility pole equipment with two bullet holes in it. Responsible is a black Jeep Wrangler with over sized tires last seen heading north on Sport Hill Road.
