Car Crashes Into Bridgeport Business

[caption id="attachment_6063" align="alignleft" width="150" caption="Car hit a main support making the building unstable."][/caption] Shortly after 3:30pm Saturday a car parked on North Avenue suddenly accelerated, jumping the curb, broke through a railing and crashed into a a car parked at  M & M Auto Repair located at 414 North Avenue.     Marcos Zasilva was inside M&M Auto Repair the accident occurred and said he thought something exploded inside the shop.   Assistant Fire Chief Ivan Fossesigurani of the Bridgeport Fire Department said the car knocked out a main  support truss making the building unstable until they get someone shore it up.  Fossesigurani said the driver of the vehicle was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Norwalk Crash Sends 6 To The Hospital

[caption id="attachment_6056" align="alignleft" width="258" caption="Accident happened around 11am"][/caption] Shortly after 11am this morning after a three car crash on the Route 7 connector.  6 people from the Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that rolled were hospitalized, witnesses tell us about three of the occupants were thrown from the vehicle.  They were transported to St. Vincent's Medical Center in Bridgeport because Norwalk Hospital was on trauma diversion, which means they were not accepting patients at that time with serious injuries.  Condition of those hospitalized are not known at this time.   Special thanks to Nate Yates for providing the photo.

No Happy Ending At Pleasant Moments Cafe

Friday the 13th was a most unlucky day for one patron at the Pleasant Moment Cafe at 1 William Street in Bridgeport. Shortly after midnight police were called to the cafe, officers quickly called for a supervisor who in turn called detectives to investigate what they are calling an untimely death. There were no signs of foul play, no bruises or contusions.   Police suspect he might have been diabetic, they continue their investigation.

Legislators Protest Slated Closure of Norwalk Social Security Office

Hundreds rally in city after teen’s homicide

BRIDGEPORT -- Teenagers, mothers whose children have been shot and killed on the city's streets, babies in strollers, preteen girls -- hundreds of them poured onto Stratford Avenue on Wednesday night to rally against the kind of senseless violence that led to the death of 14-year-old Justin Thompson on Sunday.  Thompson was gunned down about 12:20 a.m. on Seaview Avenue while walking home with his friends after a 16th birthday party.  Read full article....
