4:44pm–#Fairfield–Police were called to Sasco Beach to investigate that a man was pleasuring himself in public in his green and white panel van. A 17 year old girl witnessed it and ran home to tell her mother who called police. He was described as a white balding male wearing sunglasses. When police arrived the van was not in the lot but police had set a perimeter and located the van on Geneva Terrace a short time later.
2:31–Bridgeport–Street/School fight at Blackham School (Thormes St.) out of control, police requesting back up. Amsterdam and Savoy is where it’s taking place. Police make two arrests.

12:11pm–Bridgeport–Beardsley School at 500 Huntington Road. A third grader has a knife and corkscrew and is threatening two students. Police on the way.
Firefighters worked to get to the engine compartment to fully extinguish the fire on this car that errupted in flames shortly after 12:15am on May 22 at the corner of Lexington and Harral Ave.
Residents and businesses from Fairfield held the big rubber duck race down the Mill River this Saturday at 1 p.m. The proceeds raised during the derby support St. Catherine Academy, a nonprofit private school for children with disabilities

7:00pm–Bridgeport–Police are looking for 6-8 black males who stabbed a blind man in the back at Bunnell and Stratford Ave. One male wore a red tee shirt, most were wearing black shirts, they were all wearing black hats. They were last seen hanging out at the store at the corner of Stratford and Fifth Street. They were between the ages of 17 to 21 years old.
You can tell I took the mayor off guard with a lighthearted question about tomorrows impending Day of Judgement. Bridgeport is always face with such serious issues it was good to have a little fun with the mayor.

2:43pm–#Bridgeport–Walgreens Security at 1000 Park Ave is chasing a black male wearing a black hoddie in the backyards of Park, Vine and Wood Streets. He is wanted for robbery. 2:53 UPDATE—The man being chased by Walgreen’s Security for robbery was captured by and held by a citizen. Police now have him in custody on Iranistan Ave. and waiting for the victim to identify him.

2:52am–#Bridgeport–Report of an explosion that injured a State Trooper at Vincellette St and Riverview St. reported by a Bridgeport Police Officer. Not sure why the officers are there in the first place. 2:57am–UPDATE– Bridgeport Fire Department trying to determine if State PD Bomb Squad on scene. Update– FD determines it is State PD Bomb Squad. Request for fans to be brought to unit 67. 3:12am–UPDATE–Fire department allowed to return to quarters. Radio silent on other activities.
1:45pm–Bridgeport– For the third time this week police reported to the Majestic Theater on Main and Congress Street for thieves breaking trying to steal copper. Police apprehended four after a difficult search in this abandoned building because many floorboards and steps are missing and boarded up false doors created additional hazards. Four men were apprehended in this attempt. Police confiscated tools used in the attempted theft.

2:14pm—#Bridgeport–Bridgeport are looking for two black males possibly “Blood” gang members involved in street fight at 587 Capital Ave. Last seen in a gray Chevy Impala , possibly with shotguns in the car.. Last seen headed west on Capitol Ave.
2:30am–Bridgeport–Vehicle fire fully involved at 74 Texas Avenue.
Police are investigating a one car accident that occurred on Brooklawn Terrace in Fairfield around 1am on May 18th. According to witnesses the “stocky” driver was seen leaving the scene walking towards Brooklawn Avenue. Police apprehended the driver about an hour later.

12:23am– Bridgeport –Police are investigating another armed robbery, this time at 235 Coleman Street. The suspects are two black males, one wearing black jacket and blue jeans, black handgun, the other white jacket with blue jeans, silver handgun. Fled down Coleman towards and turned right on Harral Ave in a older model gray Cadillac or Oldsmobile . UPDATE–Police Pursuit– Police spot a gray older model car on North Ave. pursuit it down Dewey and turns down Fairfield Ave. the wrong way and crashes. Two flee on foot but police catch one on 4951 Grove. One fled on Elm Street. 1:01am–UPDATE–Canine now on scene, police have sweater of the last remaining suspect for the dogs to track. 1:04am–Dog finds the suspect behind 44 Elmwood Place.
11:35pm–Bridgeport–An armed robbery just occurred on East Main Street near Spring Street. Responsible are two black males, one light skinned, wearing a black hoodie, dark blue jeans, short in height. He displayed a black handgun during the robbery. The second suspect was about 5’5″ wearing a gray hoodie and light blue jeans. He displayed a silver handgun. Both were last seen heading on foot towards Beardsley Park.
BRIDGEPORT, CT – The City’s mill rate for the 2010 Grand List has been submitted by Mayor Bill Finch to the City Council for immediate consideration at this evening’s Council meeting. The rate remains unchanged from last year at 39.64. “Easing the burden on our taxpayers is one of my administration’s top priorities,” said Mayor Bill Finch.

10:44am–#Shelton–The Citgo Station at 442 River Road was just robbed at knife point. Police are looking for a white male in his early 20s, 6 foot tall last seen fleeing towards Stratford. Police are looking for a gray 4 door gray Nissan Maxima, the license plate comes back to a Raven Terrace residence in Statford. Patrick Re, 21, of 52 Raven Terr. was arrested for the robbery.
1:26am–Bridgeport–Armed robbery just occurred on Ellsworth near Davis St. reportedly by two black males both wearing masks, both had guns, one medium built the other short. They fled on foot down Ellsworth St. The victim is a woman, police have just begun their investigation. UPDATE– Police reporting both men were wearing dark clothes, both wearing black masks. One was 5′ 4″ the other 5′ 8″. Both parties had guns, one a black handgun the other had a small caliber shotgun. Police believe they are connected to a robbery that occurred Hansen Street recently. Last seen on foot on Ellsworth heading towards Fairfield Ave. 2:02am UPDATE–One officer has two men fitting the description behind Stop and Shop on Fairfield Ave. Victim on the way to ID them. 2:08am–Police just received a phone call from another woman robbed on Fairfield Ave. tonight, possibly by the same two. She lives in West Haven and waited until she got home to call because she was afraid. 2:10am–UPDATE– Witness unable to identify they victims because they were wearing masks.
James Tate allowed to go to prom!-Headmaster Beth Smith reversed her decision that the 18-year-old senior — and the two who helped them with posted a message on the school wall — can the June 4 prom. “Shelton police confirm they have had several officiers guarding the headmaster at school and at her home. Sgt. James Millington said Smith had received several calls to her home where the callers mysteriously hung up. He also said police investigated damage done to Smith’s car tires, but could not determine whether it was an act of vandalism.”

As we reported as the news was breaking, At 11:09 PM on Wednesday May 11th a Papurah Road resident called the Fairfield Emergency Communications Center to report a vehicle fire on the Merritt Parkway. She stated that she could see the fire from her back yard and called back several times to advise that she had been hearing several explosions. Firefighters arrived on scene to find a 1997 Chrysler Town and Country Mini Van fully involved in fire. The magnesium
Two garages were burned to the ground at 192 Federal Street in Bridgeport Wednesday shortly after 7:30pm. This view is from Capital Avenue, the fire spread to the adjoining garages. Fire department suspects arson since there is no electricity in the detached garages, but sources tell us that gasoline and even lighter fluid is stored in the garages. The fire was intense enough to melt the vinyl siding off the nearby homes. From the time the call came in to the time I arrived was under ten minutes and the two garages were already burned to the ground. Fire department is still investigating the cause of the fire.
