The National Park Service released surveillance video that captured the moment an earthquake shook the Washington Monument. The 5.8-magnitude quake in August caused several cracks to form at the top of the 555-foot structure.

The eighth Annual Fallen Heroes Memorial was held at Indian Ledge Park on Saturday. Many dignitaries paid tribute to the Gold Star Families....those whose families loved ones paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives for their country.

The call originally came in from Fairfield as 3055 Park Avenue in Fairfield. It appeared the SUV was traveling north on Park Avenue (Bridgeport's side) when it struck a tree and spun in the opposite direction. Firefighters from both towns work feverishly for over 15 minutes to free him. Extent of the man's injuries are not know at this time. Shortly after 11pm Thursday night a report of a motorcycle colliding with a car at the northbound entrance of the Merritt Parkway shutdown the Black Rock Turnpike in both directions until approximately 4:30am as police investigated the accident. Police tell us initial investigation lead them to believe the white BMW was driven a 53 year old woman driving from home from the Patterson Club on Cross Highway. The motorcyclist, a 25 year old man from Ludlowe, Mass. was traveling south on Black Rock Turnpike and attempted to "drop his bike" about thirty yards ahead to avoid the collision with the car.
