(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont announced that his administration is releasing nearly $8.5 million additional aid to connect those experiencing homelessness with support services – including housing, food, and mental health services – ahead of the upcoming winter season. 2022-11-13@2:29pm--#Bridgeport News: Police said that security at Harborview Towers at 376 Washington Avenue reported that a tenant inside the building was knocking on doors with a knife. The person went back to their apartment and according to a witness, he barricaded himself in. Bridgeport Police said they were successful in convincing him to open the door so they could speak to him. He was placed in custody without incident. This is an ongoing investigation.

Proving once again that the first first responder is the dispatcher, a Southport man was choking and unable to breath. Fairfield Dispatcher gave over the phone instructions on how to perform the Heimlich maneuver, saving the man's life. I'll have more information on this hopefully by Monday. 2022-11-12@10:46pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to the 600 block of Bishop Avenue for a rollover accident that was first reported with entrapment. The drive was able to get out on his own and has no reported injuries.
The Bridgeport Police Department (BPD) would like to warn the public about a financial telephone scam, where callers posing as representatives of Police Department falsely assert criminal legal action in exchange for monetary funds. The Bridgeport Police Department has been notified of multiple telephone calls regarding scammers impersonating members of the BPD who have attempted to extort individuals claiming they are delinquent for jury duty. The scammers falsely claim the individual has an active arrest warrant for jury duty violations which requires them to pay a fine to be restored to good standing.
