Westport News: Chimney Fire

#Westport CT-- At approximately 7:30 pm on November 20, 2021, the Westport Fire Department wasdispatched to a report of a chimney fire. Upon the arrival of the Shift Commander flameswere seen coming from the roof of a large home. The call was immediately upgraded toa structure fire response, which received four engines, a ladder truck, and the ShiftCommander. The first arriving engine deployed an exterior attack line whilesimultaneously making entry into the house for an interior attack. The ladder truckarrived and began to deploy resources to the roof. Additional engines arrived to establisha water supply and backup the firefighters in the house. Firefighters inside encounteredsmoke on the second floor and worked to gain access to the fire. Commissioner Joseph Giulietti announced that the Connecticut Department of Transportation has launched Open Data Hub, a new one-stop-shop for the public to access transportation data. The Hub allows the public to access and download timely location-based data and perform analysis through easy-to-use online tools, applications, and dashboards. As a live platform with geospatial data, the Hub allows users to access official CTDOT data, such as traffic volumes, crashes, and roadway characteristics and classifications. Mary wrote to Moms of Fairfield "Hi everyone- I teach English in Bridgeport and my seventh graders are currently supposed to be reading Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan. The books never came in, and the students are struggling to read the book on the pdf on their computers.
