Hartford, CT — Attorney General William Tong and Department of Revenue Services Commissioner Mark D. Boughton today are warning Connecticut consumers of a scam in which they receive a threatening letter about unpaid federal tax debts. The fraudulent letter claims to be from a “Tax Processing Unit” in a Connecticut county and threatens legal action for unpaid taxes and provides a number to call to avoid enforcement. This is a scam.
LONG-TERM CARE FACILITY STAFF IN CONNECTICUT TO BE VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19
(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that in an effort to protect some of the most vulnerable residents of Connecticut from the impact of COVID-19, he has directed an executive order be issued to require employees of all long-term care facilities in the state to be vaccinated against the virus. Executive Order No. 13B, which was filed today and takes effect immediately, requires staff from these facilities to receive at least their first dose of the vaccines no later than September 7, 2021. Failure of a long-term care facility to comply with the order will subject the facility to a $20,000 civil penalty per day. Bridgeport Cop Injured In Crash
2021-08-06@11:53pm--#Bridgeport CT-- A police officer was injured and taken to the hospital in a crash at Fairfield and West Avenue (officer is in the video taken in the ambulance). The driver of the other car was also injured and taken to the hospital. The conditions of both are unknown at this time. A parked car also appeared to be involved in the crash. Another officer was injured in a crash on West Avenue near State Street on July 3, 2021.

Bridgeport News: Homicide Suspect Captured
2021-08-05@1:22pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Bridgeport Police located a vehicle for a suspect allegedly wanted for a homicide and other violent crimes.. Bridgeport Police lost sight of the silver Mercedes traveling southbound near exit 29. A short time later Connecticut State Police located the car traveling northbound and pursued it according to radio reports. The car got off exit 32 and parked the vehicle behind 2420 Main Street Stratford and went into a store. Police located the man and took him into custody (wearing a red jacket was not such a good idea).
