2020-11-05@12:30AMish--Early Thursday morning, officers were called to an address on Bouton Street fora male bleeding from the neck. Responding officers detained the suspect, Walter Brooks-Rivera,while he was running from the scene. The victim sustained multiple stab wounds and wasbrought to the hospital and is still being treated. Detectives were called in to investigate, andhave determined the stabbing was an altercation between two roommates. This case remainsunder investigation. The suspect, Walter Brooks-Rivera was charged in this case. Coronavirus Relief Fund

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he has approved the allocation of $3.4 million in grants from the state’s Coronavirus Relief Fund, which uses federal CARES Act money, to finance programs in several towns across Connecticut that will be used for homeless shelter improvements, homeless prevention services, and financial assistance for low-income residents at-risk of becoming homeless. Administered by the Connecticut Department of Housing, the grants will provide critically needed assistance to many who have been impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. “These grants will be used to ensure the supports are in place for those who are on the verge of becoming homeless and we can rapidly respond to the situations they are facing,” Governor Lamont said.…

REOPENING OF RESIDENTIAL RENTERS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM AMID COVID-19 PANDEMIC

HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont and Connecticut Housing Commissioner Seila Mosquera-Bruno today announced that the State of Connecticut is opening a second round of funding under the Temporary Rental Housing Assistance Program (TRHAP) to applicants seeking assistance with residential rent payments delayed by financial stress related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In this round, the program will for the first time accept applications directly from small landlords. TRHAP provides landlords with up to $4,000 in rental assistance on behalf of approved tenants. During the first round, more than $2.2 million in residential rent relief was distributed to landlords on behalf of 826 households. Ansonia News: Target Arrest Made

On November 5, 2020, the Ansonia Police Department with the assistance of the Bridgeport Police Department, Stratford Police Department, Connecticut State Police Gang Task Force and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force served two search warrants in Bridgeport and arrested Michael Lockhart for the October 21, 2020 armed robbery in the Target parking lot in Ansonia. The search warrants took place at residences on East Main Street and Maplewood Avenue in Bridgeport. The investigation is ongoing an additional arrests are expected. Hartford, CT – Attorney General William Tong has moved to revoke or reduce the pensions of former Bridgeport Police Chief Armando “A.J.” Perez and Personnel Director David Dunn following federal guilty pleas involving the scheme to award Perez the Chief of Police position under false and fraudulent pretenses. Both men have pleaded guilty to federal Wire Fraud and False Statements charges. Perez currently receives a $102,072.36 annual pension through the Municipal Employees Retirement System (MERS).
