Man Flees After Police Find Drugs in Car

(Bridgeport, CT – March 27, 2013) – A city man was jailed on $50,000 bond after a motor vehicle stop netted narcotics. Officers Angel Vazquez and Keith Hanson were patrolling in the Safe School Corridor near Bassick High School Tuesday when they were alerted by Officer Adam Roscoe, who is assigned to the DEA Task Force, about a vehicle that made a suspiciously brief stop at a house on Sherwood Avenue. Police had information about heroin being sold out of the location. Vazquez and Hanson spotted the Infiniti coupe and conducted a motor vehicle stop. Rose Shea, 25, of East Haven was driving. Depressing Day?

A lot of suicide attempts in the area today.  We won't report specifics but a Fairfield man today was rushed to the hospital after intentionally swallowing anti-freeze to end his life.  Firefighters in Bridgeport cut down a person who attempted to hang themselves, performed CPR and saved their life.  In one town a 13 year old was transported for evaluation for suicidal thoughts and in another town (towns intentionally not posted) another 13 year old intentionally attempted to overdose on her psychiatric medication.  There appears to be an increase in psychiatric calls but earlier in November 2012 Governor Malloy cut $80 million to health and human services.

National Shooting Sports Foundation donating 2,500 gun safety locks today
