TEEN, FATHER ARRESTED FOLLOWING DOUBLE SHOOTING ON BRIDGEPORT’S WEST SIDE

BRIDGEPORT, CT – Bridgeport Police have arrested a 14-year-old male and his 46-year-old father in connection with Thursday's double shooting at Laurel Avenue and Grove Street. Both were taken into custody several hours later at a motel in the North End by the Detective Bureau's Shooting Task Force, which investigates non-fatal shootings. The 14-year-old was charged with Carrying a Pistol Without a Permit, Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree, and Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm. He was processed at police headquarters and transported to juvenile detention. His father, Damien Mullins, 46, of Bridgeport, was charged with Tampering with Evidence. He was held on a $25,000 bond. 18-Year-Old Killed in Catherine Street Shooting

Bridgeport police are investigating the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Leon Richardson, who was found inside a Honda on Catherine Street Monday evening. Officers responded around 6:45 p.m. after receiving multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire and a man bleeding inside a vehicle. Richardson was found in the driver’s seat with a head wound and was pronounced dead at the scene. This is Bridgeport's 5th homicide of 2026 An anonymous witness told DoingItLocal that a red sedan was traveling on Catherine Street toward Harral Avenue when shots were fired. The witness said the sedan then fled toward Harral Avenue in the direction of the highway. Bridgeport Police Investigating Stabbing After Man Found Bleeding Inside Car on Pulaski Street

Bridgeport Police detectives are investigating the stabbing of a 31-year-old Bridgeport man who was found bleeding inside a vehicle on Pulaski Street late Tuesday afternoon. Shortly before 4:30 p.m., Bridgeport patrol officers were flagged down by a passerby who reported that a man was bleeding inside a car parked on Pulaski Street. Officers located the victim, who had suffered multiple stab wounds. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was transported by ambulance to Bridgeport Hospital, where he underwent emergency treatment. Police said he is listed in critical but stable condition and is expected to survive. During the operation, authorities seized approximately 23.24 pounds of cannabis and THC-related products as part of an ongoing effort to address the illegal sale of cannabis products from smoke shops in Bridgeport. Officers also recovered $654 in cash believed to be proceeds from illegal sales. The Bridgeport Police Department is investigating the death of a woman found stabbed at a Park Avenue rooming house shortly after midnight on Tuesday. Officers were dispatched to the 350 block of Park Avenue around 12:05 am for an altercation involving numerous persons. The victim, 41-year-old Willesha Riddick of Bridgeport, was bleeding and unresponsive at the front door of the house. Bridgeport Police responded to the 690 block of Beechwood Avenue around 1:10am after multiple ShotSpotter activations. When officers arrived, they located one victim with a gunshot wound. That victim was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital by AMR. A second victim later self-transported to Bridgeport Hospital by private vehicle with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. No arrests have been made, and the Bridgeport Police Department is investigating. Further information will be provided once available.
