DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Trumbull News: Vietnam Memorial Destroyed

Police UPDATE: The damage to the memorial was caused by a one car motor vehicle accident, no injuries were reported, and the operator left the scene.  The vehicle remained in the general area awaiting to be towed due to vehicular damage.  Trumbull Police Officers later determined the tow company, and tracked down the involved vehicle, and then located the driver.  The driver was cooperative, but was charged with leaving the scene of the accident.  #Trumbull CT-- Many commuters this morning found the Vietnam Memorial on White Plains Road destroyed overnight. Bridgeport News: Black Rock Homicide Victim Identified

#Bridgeport CT--The victim of the homicide that occurred on Fox Street and Canfield Avenue has been identified as Jorge Tirado 5/2/84. Detectives initially believed that Tirado was actually another 44 year old male because he has that persons identification in his pocket. An examination of Tirado's fingerprints, tattoo's and photograph led detectives to confirm the victim's identity as Tirado. Detectives continue to pursue leads in this investigation and ask that anyone with information about this crime contact Bridgeport Police at 203-576-TIPS.

Bridgeport News: Homicide #16 – 2nd Of The Day

Police UPDATE: On September 24, 2020 at 7:57pm, police dispatch received a report of shots fired in the area of 669 Union Avenue on the east side of Bridgeport. Patrol officers responded to the scene and were met by family members, who were in the process of transporting a relative to the hospital who was shot. With police assistance, members of the victim's family drove him to Bridgeport Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim, a 27-year-old male identified as Raymond Sierra arrived at Bridgeport Hospital a short time later, where efforts to save his life were unsuccessful. Detectives are processing a crime scene on Union Avenue and are working to identify the perpetrator responsible.…

HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced the launch of the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS) multi-year IT modernization initiative that will improve the customer’s experience and deliver additional, user-friendly features such as mobile device-friendly design, secure web messaging, and advanced tax filing reminders.   The launch is highlighted by the new, online tax filing and payment portal called DRS myconneCT. Certain taxes filed by businesses are included in the initial phase, and the program will include  all state tax filings made with DRS in future phases.   Information about the portal will be included in business.ct.gov, the one-stop-shop for businesses launched in July, and is part of the broader efforts of the Lamont administration to streamline and modernize government…
