State Police UPDATE: On February 7, 2018 at approximately 00:26 a.m., troopers from Troop G - Bridgeport were conducting speed enforcement on I-95 southbound in the area of exit 40, Milford when they observed a black Honda Accord traveling at a high rate of speed. Troopers attempted to stop the Honda; however the operator increased speed and engaged troopers in pursuit. Troop G dispatch notified troopers that the Honda was reported stolen out of Ansonia. The Honda continued to traveling south on I-95, at times in excess of 120mph, before the operator eventually lost control on the exit 27A off-ramp in Bridgeport and struck the left side barrier. Westport News: Library Employee Charged With Child Porn

#Westport CT--On August 28, 2017, the Westport Police Department received information from the Connecticut State Police Computer Crime Unit of suspected child pornography being shared online. The complaint involved an unidentified person in Westport sharing a picture of child pornography over Facebook with another unidentified person who does not reside in Connecticut. Sergeant Sereniti Dobson of the Westport Police Youth Division initiated an investigation and was able to identify the suspect who shared the image as Robert Kelly, age 43, of Westport, CT. On January 16, 2018, members of the Westport Detective Bureau, with the assistance of the regional Technical Investigation Unit, executed a search warrant at Kelly’s residence. Amateure Radio Class Offered

Fairfield, Connecticut (February 4, 2018) – The Greater Fairfield Amateur Radio Association (GFARA) is offering an amateur radio technician class at the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 77 Building (Building 5) located at 595 Turney Road in Fairfield. Classes will run for 9 weeks from February 7th through April 18th and be held from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm. The class costs $50 which covers the textbook, handouts, exam fee and a one-year membership to the GFARA Amateur Radio Club. The course will be taught by a team of experienced amateur radio (also referred to as Ham Radio) operators, lead by Larry Gross.   The FCC Technician License exam covers basic regulations, operating practices, and electronics theory, with a focus on VHF and UHF applications.
