Bridgeport News: Fire Chief Receives National Award

#Bridgeport CT--Mayor Ganim recognized Bridgeport Fire Chief Richard Thode on his receipt of the “Alan Brunacini Fire Service Executive Safety Award” and recent accomplishments of the Bridgeport Fire Department. The award was awarded by his peers of fire chiefs across the country. The chief remained humble saying even though his name is on the awards it really is a Bridgeport Fire Department award. The mayor and city council members agreed to Chief Thode's focus on safety and training in taking care of his members reflects on how the members can continue to take care of the citizens of Bridgeport.

Westport News: Elvis Has Left His Warrants

#Westport CT--On 08/17/18 at approximately 10:00 am, an officer initiated a motor vehicle stop on the Sherwood Island Connector. The operator of the vehicle was identified as Elvis Paches, 33, of Bridgeport, CT. During the stop, officers learned Paches had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Paches was taken into custody and transported to headquarters where he was charged with 53a-173 Failure to Appear 2 nd and released after posting $500 court set bond. Bridgeport AMR Compassion

#Bridgeport CT--How about some like for the compassion AMR displayed last night?  Last night I was at the fire at Capital and Main Street.  The apartment above Sorrento's Importing had a fire.  I saw this woman by herself very distraught over the situation.  It didn't surprise me at all when I saw the EMS technician giving her a hug.  Sometimes compassion is all the treatment that is needed.   It happens frequently with all our first responders in our area.  Way to go!
