Westport News: Butt Bust

#Westport CT-- On 01/04/2019 at approximately 5:30am, officers responded to Riverside Sunoco on a report of a burglary, after a fuel delivery driver observed forced entry to the door of the business. The suspect stole more than $5,000 worth of cigarettes and caused over $1,400 in damage to the cash register and door. The suspect was later identified as Christopher Dahlinger of Trumbull, CT. An arrest warrant application for Dahlinger was submitted and later approved. On 03/27/2019, Dahlinger was arrested at Norwalk Superior Court on the outstanding warrant. He was charged with 53a-103 Burglary 3 rd , 53a-124 Larceny 3 rd and 53a-115 Criminal Mischief 1st. Dahlinger was held in lieu of $65,000 court set bond and was to be arraigned…

2019-03-30 @7:44pm–UPDATE-- Last night shots rang out in Marina Village with 3 being hit by gunfire.  Bridgeport Councilwoman Denese Taylor Moye son was shot and underwent surgery to repair a bone shattered in his leg.  Police Chief AJ Perez said, “We are also gathering surveillance video and talking with witnesses.”  All three shot suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Bridgeport News: Person Shot At Marina Park

Governor Upset With ICE

HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont has delivered a letter  to U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen asserting that her department must recognize pardons granted in the State of Connecticut just as they would in any other state. The governor was prompted to contact Secretary Nielsen due to the detention earlier this week and planned deportation of a Connecticut mother by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials that is based on a conviction for two nonviolent offenses, the most recent having occurred more than seven years ago.
