Stratford Author Book Signing

The Stratford Library continues the fall season of “Sunday Afternoon Talks”, its monthly series of informative and entertaining talks featuring prominent local guest speakers, on Sunday, November 3 at 2 pm with “Stories from Stratford: “Shag Carpet Toilet” & “St. Stan’s: Tales from the Penguin Academy”.  Guest speaker is author Kenneth Lynch.  “Sunday Afternoon Talks” is free and open to the public.             Humorist Kenneth Lynch wrote two novels about his experiences growing up in Stratford in the early 1970s: “Shag Carpet Toilet” and “St. Stan’s: Tales from the Penguin Academy”.  Lynch was born in Bridgeport but soon moved to Stratford where he attended Franklin Elementary School, Holy Name of Jesus School, Wooster Junior High School and Stratford High School.  In his senior year, his family moved to Wallingford and lived there until…

I-95 Shut Down

2019-10-29@5:22pm--#Bridgeport Ct-- #Stratford CT-- #cttraffic-- I-95 northbound near exit 30 is shutdown due to an accident involving a tractor trailer.  Three people are pinned in cars requiring firefighters to extricate them.  On ramps to I-95 is being shutdown by Bridgeport Police.

Bridgeport News: Police Officer Injured In Pursuit

Bridgeport Police UPDATE: According to police reports, at approximately 2200hrs on 10/28/19, police ran the plates of a Acura TL that was suspected stolen. After running the plates through the database, the car was confirmed to be stolen. Police then attempted to stop the vehicle that was occupied with 5 passengers. The vehicle refused to stop. Police were then lead into a brief pursuit cover 4-5 street but end on Laurel Ave in a motor vehicle accident when the suspect ran the stolen vehicle into the passenger side of the police vehicle. Bridgeport News: Fire At The Power Plant

2019-10-28 @ 11:08am--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to the UI power plant at 10 Atalantic Street for a fire.  Firefighters found it to be mostly insulation burning on a scaffolding at gas turbine number eleven.  Firefighters reported the fire out within minutes.  The power plant was officially turned on July 29th. This is why we can't have nice things...
