Continued Distribution of Masks, Infrared Thermometer

The State of Connecticut has partnered with CBIA-CONNSTEP to assist in the distribution of donated surgical masks and thermometers to eligible essential small businesses, non-profits and places of worship with 50 employees or less.  This program will be running weekly for the month of June.    Small businesses, nonprofits, and places of worship that would like to request equipment from the state’s supply of PPE and infrared thermometers should fill out the online form on a weekly basis by early afternoon on Thursdays.  The state has partnered with the Connecticut Business and Industry Association and its affiliate CONNSTEP to distribute the thermometers weekly. Norwalk News: Moving Up Ceremonies

#Norwalk CT-- On June 4, 2020, Nathan Hale Middle School and West Rocks Middle School will be hosting drive-thru moving up ceremonies. NMHS will be from 1500-1930 and WRMS will be from 1500-1900. This will cause an increase of vehicles in the vicinity of both schools (Strawberry Hill and West Rocks Road) which will cause traffic delays. Our officers will be on hand to assist with traffic and safety. Westport News: Fire The Walls

Fire Department UPDATE: At 8:32pm this evening the Westport Fire Department Emergency Communications Center received a report of a structure fire on Turkey Hill Lane. The department responded with 4 engines, a ladder truck, and the shift commander. Arriving units found a smoke in the basement and first floor. After further investigation a fire was found in a wall on the first floor. Access was made to the walls and the fire was quickly extinguished. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Westport Fire Marshal’s Office. Westport Police and Westport EMS assisted on scene.
