Bridgeport News: Man Shoots Self With Stolen Gun

#Bridgeport CT--On February 21, 2021 at approximately 1:15 pm Bridgeport Police Detectives responded to a party shot at 324 Lyon Terrace Bridgeport, CT.  During their investigation, Detectives were able to determine there was a crime scene at this address and the victim had lied about the location he was shot to avoid being arrested.   Detectives determined the victim accidentally shot himself in the left arm.  He was treated for this non life threatening injury at St. Vincents Hospital and discharged later in the day.  Detectives located the illegal firearm used in the shooting and subsequently established probable cause to arrest the Victim/Suspect.  The Victim/Suspect has been identified as 19 year old Kahlis Parker of Bridgeport Connecticut.  Parker has been charged with Risk of…

One person is trapped and firefighter are in the process of extrication.

Smoke Detector awakens Fairfield residents of early morning fires

FAIRFIELD, CT, Thursday, February 11, 2021: At 4:33 A.M. the Emergency Communications Center received a report by a resident of a fire on the second floor at a three-family residence at 556 Black Rock Turnpike.  The Fairfield Fire Department responded and arrived on scene within four minutes of notification.  At the time of arrival, the exact location of the fire was unknown.  During an interior search, firefighters located two small fires in separate locations, while residents awoken by the smoke detector’s alarm attempted to make contact with others still asleep in the multi-family residence. The surrounding area was blocked off by police. By 5:00pm it was determined to be a prank/swatting call. Swatting is the action or practice of making a prank call to emergency services in an attempt to bring about the dispatch of a large number of armed police officers to a particular address.

Westport News: Computer Crime in the Second Degree

#Westport CT-- On September 4, 2020 at approximately 10:26 a.m., a Westport Police detective responded to a local business that was reporting a possible computer crime. The complainant alleged that a former employee “hacked” into their computer system and made some modifications to their website. Furthermore, the day after the initial police report was filed the company advised that they were the victim of ransomware and as a result, they were unable to access their work files. The detective, after an extensive investigation, developed Yigitali Ercan as a suspect and it was confirmed that he is in fact a former employee of the company in question. Bridgeport News: Arson Suspected In Club Fire2021-02-16@4:20am--#Bridgeport CT-- Arson is suspected in an overnight fire at Perfections Lounge at 1603 Barnum Avenue. First arriving companies found fire in the building and flames from the roof. Due to the layout and construction type of this commercial building there was considerable heat and fire contained within, and a second alarm was struck for additional resources. Searches were negative and the fire was extinguished with no injuries reported. However, security video on Barnum Avenue shows a man running down the street on fire. It is thought the man allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail through a window in the back of the business.
