Westport News: Larceny

On November 9, 2021, a resident came to the Westport Police Department to report a possible larceny. The complainant stated that on August 13, 2020, he gave a $13,000.00 deposit to Joseph Esposito, Jr. to plant several trees on his property. The work was purportedly never performed and despite multiple requests the deposit was not returned to the complainant. The officer assigned to this case interviewed Mr. Esposito. Mr. Esposito said that his intention was to honor the contract and that he did take the $13,000.00 to enable him to purchase the trees from the nursery. Bridgeport Police Department Call for Service no. 22-13478 /Aggravated Assault with a Firearm / 300 Block of Park Street

#Bridgeport CT--On February 18, 2022, at approximately 2:00 pm the Bridgeport Emergency Operation Center received reports of shots fired in the 300 block of Park Street.  Police located a crime scene in that area with a vehicle struck by gunfire.  A short time later, the Emergency Operations Center received information that a gunshot wound victim was arriving at an area hospital.  The GSW victim has been identified as a 22-year-old Bridgeport man.  He is listed in stable condition with a non-life-threatening injury.        The Bridgeport Police Detective Bureau has responded to the scene and are investigating.  Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to contact the case officer, Detective Jeffrey Holtz, at 203-581-5293 or utilize the Bridgeport Police Tips Line at 203-576-TIPS.

BRIDGEPORT POLICE MAKE ARREST IN HOLIDAY LIQUOR STORE ROBBERY/HIT AND RUN

The Bridgeport Police have arrested a 24 year-old woman for a Thanksgiving weekend robbery of an east side liquor store that left the popular manager of the store seriously injured.  Melaine Sanchez of Bridgeport was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with Robbery in the First Degree, Assault in the First Degree, Evading Responsibility, Reckless Driving and Driving Under Suspension. Her bond was $250,000. A warrant for her arrest was procured by the department's Robbery/Burglary Unit. On Saturday, November 27th, 2021, police were called to Pembroke St. on report of a robbery of the Felix Package store at 874 Boston Ave. Witnesses reported the manager of the store attempted to stop the suspect in the parking lot.
