Trumbull News: Brawl At The Mall Formerly Known As Westfield Mall

#Trumbull CT--On Monday evening, January 16, 2023, Trumbull Police arrested a teenager after he was found to be carrying a hatchet and intimidating other youths inside of the Trumbull Mall. A fifteen (15) year old male from Bridgeport, was arrested and charged for his involvement in this incident. At approximately 7:00 p.m., as officers were working a security detail at the Trumbull Mall, due to a recent uptick in disturbances that have occurred, they were approached by a patron who pointed to a group of juveniles that were in the food court area. Bridgeport News: Pedestrian Killed

Police UPDATE: On January 17, 2023, at approximately 1044 hours, the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received a phone call stating a pedestrian was struck by a dark green Toyota Camry, bearing Connecticut Classic registration 00SHRD, at the Intersection of East Main Street and Pulaski Street. The witness stated the pedestrian was bleeding from injuries sustained from the collision, and a dark green Toyota Camry drove away from the scene.   American Medical Response, Bridgeport Fire Engine E1, and the Bridgeport Police were dispatched to said location. Upon arrival, officers observed the pedestrian lying in the roadway at East Main Street and Pulaski Street unresponsive. Ansonia News: Robbery Arrest

On January 13, 2023, the Ansonia Police Department arrested an 18-year-old male from New Haven for his involvement in an armed robbery of the Xtra Mart on Wakelee Avenue on July 7, 2022. At the time of the robbery the male was 17-years-old, making him a juvenile at the time of the incident, so his name will not be released at this time. This is the second arrest in the investigation, on October 6, 2022, Christian Borrero, age 18, of New Haven was arrested for his involvement in the robbery. The car crashed in front of Sacred Heart University at 5151 Park Avenue The five occupants fled in different directions. A female suspect appeared to be injured from the crash and she EMS was called to evaluate her injuries. Ansonia News: Shooting Arrest

#Ansonia CT--On January 11, 2023, Daycus Bailey, age 40 of New Haven, was arrested by warrant for his involvement in the December 29, 2022 shooting on Bridge Street in Ansonia. During the course of the investigation detectives were able to recover the handgun believed to be used by Bailey in the shooting along with other evidence linked to Bailey and the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, detectives are working to identify the other suspect who fired shots during the incident. Daycus Bailey was charged with Criminal Attempt at Assault First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, Stealing a Firearm, and Unlawful Discharge.
