GOVERNOR LAMONT DIRECTS STATE OFFICE BUILDINGS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC TUESDAY DUE TO WINTER STORM

Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he is ordering all executive branch state office buildings closed to the public on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, due to the winter storm that is anticipated to impact Connecticut. The governor is directing that: All level 2 state employees who are able to telework shall telework for the duration of the storm related closures; and All level 2 state employees whose job duties cannot be performed via telework should not report to work in-person. Level 2 state employees include all of those who were previously designated as “nonessential” based on their respective job duties. Bridgeport News: Person Shot On William Street

Police UPDATE: On February 27, 2023, at approximately 5:50 pm the Bridgeport Police Department received a ShotSpotter activation within the 200 block of William Street.  A short time later the Bridgeport Emergency Operations Center received a telephone call from a citizen reporting a vehicle had crashed in this area as well.  Police and medical personnel responded to the 200 block of William Street and located a motor vehicle accident scene and a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.  The victim, a 22-year-old Stratford man, was transported to the hospital via AMR Ambulance where he is listed in stable condition.  He is expected to survive. City Prepares for Storm Predicted to Bring  4” to 7” of Snowfall Bridgeport, CT – In anticipation of the pending snowfall due to impact Bridgeport, Mayor Joe Ganim is declaring a snow emergency for the city to take effect at 6:30 PM today, February 27th. During the snow emergency, residents must move their cars off posted snow emergency streets and heed alternate side of street parking on all other streets.  Snow emergency streets are marked with white signs with red lettering. Milford News: Domestic Violence/Disorderly Conduct

On February 23, 2023, officers responded to Super 8 Motel for a report of a domestic violence incident. Officers spoke to Jose Narvaez of Bridgeport and Gianna Crisante of Ansonia who said that they got into a verbal argument over some texts onCrisante’s Apple Watch. When Crisante attempted to retrieve her watch from Narvaez, she pushed and struck him in the face. Once she got it back, Narvaez continued to attempt to get it back. Crisante called 911 on her phone and Narvaez ended the call. Narvez was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Interfering with an Emergency Call Crisante was charged with Disorderly Conduct. Bridgeport News: Crash sends 1 car into a building…AGAIN

2023-02-26@8:30pm--#Bridgeport CT-- Firefighters were called to 211 State for a car into the structure with a person trapped in the car. Firefighters had the driver safely out of the car within ten minutes. The driver of the other car appeared to be okay but after I left a second ambulance was called to the scene.
