Man Arrested After Four-Hour Assault and Robbery Rampage

Bridgeport police arrested 35-year-old Cecil Mills after a four-hour crime spree on Saturday morning, during which he attacked and robbed multiple women. The arrest followed a vehicle pursuit, crash, and foot chase ending near the intersection of North Ave. and Madison Ave. Mills was charged with sexually assaulting one of the three women he allegedly robbed, and she was transported to Bridgeport Hospital with minor injuries. The victims reported being followed by a stolen Toyota Camry before being robbed and assaulted. Bridgeport News: Shooting Leads to Ghost Gun Arrest

On February 23, 2024, at around 3:36pm, Bridgeport Police responded to a report of 12 rounds fired on Karen Court. Four suspects fled the scene in a Nissan Altima, spotted by an officer on Reservoir Ave, then south on RT 8. Exiting RT 8 at Madison Avenue, the suspects fled the vehicle, resulting in the apprehension of two. Mayor Ganim announced that Pillar Properties led by principal Kuimarz Geula will undergo a major rehabilitation of the AT&T building located in downtown Bridgeport as well as construct a new housing development on the adjacent parcel. The AT&T building located at 430 John Street will be reconstructed into mixed-use development including mixed-income housing and the city’s first rooftop restaurant. Westport Adopts Affordable Housing Trust Fund, Inclusionary Zoning Fee

Westport, CT – The Town of Westport has announced that the collection of the Inclusionary Zoning Fee for the Town’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) account will begin on February 23, 2024. Per the ordinance adopting the Affordable Housing Plan and establishing the AHTF, a formal Town committee to oversee the fund will be appointed over the next few months. The adoption of the Affordable Housing Plan by the Representative Town Meeting (RTM) in July, 2023 called for the establishment of the AHTF and the method by which funds would be raised.
