Report of heavy black smoke and fire coming from the back of a home on Pease Ave in Southport. Firefighters were able to knock down the fire which extended through the attic, and there are no reported injuries at this time. Today the Bridgeport Teacher's Union met at Fairfield Woods Middle School in Fairfield for a closed all-member union meeting. Jeff Morrissey is the president of the Bridgeport Education Association (BEA), the union that represents the teachers in Bridgeport Public Schools told us that the meeting will address recent changes and listening to member's concerns.
