DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

UPDATE: The victim passed in the hospital, making this yet another homicide.From BPT Police:On September 11, 2024, at approximately 5:45 pm Bridgeport Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation and reports of a party shot within the 100 block of Spring Street.Upon arrival, officers located a male victim lying in the street suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. Medics arrived and transported the victim to an area hospital where he passed away a short time later.Patrol Officers secured the crime scene and notified the Detective Bureau (DB). UPDATE: This is officially a confirmed homicide From the Bridgeport Police: At 20:11 hrs Bridgeport ECC received a call regarding an aggravated assault with a firearm in the 150 block of Seaview Ave. This incident is now a confirmed homicide. This is an isolated incident and not a threat to the community. This is an active investigation, no further at this time. A shooting occurred at the 150 block of Seaview Avenue.
