His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. Police: Black Rock Ave death ruled homicide; baby safe as leads mount

https://youtu.be/5YidUO2_GzE The Bridgeport Police Department today confirmed that Evelyn Rayo-Mairena, 24, who was found unresponsive in the street on Black Rock Ave. at approximately 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, died from a gunshot wound to the head. Rayo-Mairena’s one year-old daughter was found unharmed on the front porch of a house, several yards from her mother's body.  She was left there by a suspect. The child has been reunited with a family member through the state Department of Children and Families.    The victim was a native of Nicaragua and lived on Black Rock Ave. with her daughter. 2025 Town Hall Halloween Parade and Trick-or-Treat

The employees in Town Hall have been hard at work decorating their office doors to welcome Trumbull preschoolers, ages 0-5, for a fun, colorful parade with trick-or-treating at each department on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. To participate, children ages 0-5 must be registered and be a Trumbull resident. There will be two sessions. Registrations are limited to 20 children per session. Bridgeport Police Investigating Serious Incident on Black Rock Avenue

Police UPDATE: Bridgeport Police Officers found a 24-year-old woman lying on the street injured and unresponsive on Black Rock Ave. at around 9:30 pm Tuesday night. Evelyn Rayo-Mairena, 24, of Bridgeport, was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital where she later died. The department is investigating her death as a homicide. Officers were initially dispatched to Black Rock Ave. on a report of an abandoned child on the front porch of a house. They located the child and then found the mother injured on the street a short distance away. The child was transported to Bridgeport Hospital for evaluation. Norwalk Man Arrested for Protective Order Violation; Multiple Warrants Served

NORWALK — On October 19, 2025, at 2:34 p.m., Norwalk Combined Dispatch received a 911 call from a victim reporting that Edgar Mancilla-Giles was outside their residence in violation of an active full no-contact protective order. Patrol officers responded, confirmed the order was in effect and the violation, and learned Mancilla-Giles was wanted on several outstanding arrest warrants; his description was broadcast to additional units. A short time later, officers located Mancilla-Giles in the area of Ely Avenue and took him into custody without incident. He was charged with Criminal Violation of a Protective Order and held on a $100,000 bond with a October 20, 2025 court date.
