DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

#Ansonia CT-- On February 6, 2024, the Ansonia Police responded to multiple calls of shots fired on Fourth Street around Liberty and Star Streets at 8:45 P.M. Investigation revealed shell casings on the scene, and video footage captured individuals firing guns seemingly without motive, prompting a search for information, urging the public to contact the police or submit anonymous tips through Tip411 at https://www.tip411.com/tips/new?alert_group_id=21553.

Bridgeport News: Child Dies In Crash

On 02/06/24 at approximately 6:05am the Bridgeport Emergency Operation Center received several calls for a single motor vehicle crash involving an injured child. The callers reported a vehicle crashing into a utility pole and getting trapped by a tree off the side of the road. The Bridgeport Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to the scene along with Bridgeport Police Officers to render aid.  A preliminary investigation confirmed a silver 2005 Honda Accord was traveling northbound on Reservoir Avenue near Saunders Avenue. Stratford News: House Fire

At approx. 8:02am, The Stratford Fire Dept. was dispatched to 60-62 Park St. for areported structure fire. Under the command of Assistant Chief Alesevich, Engines 1,2, 3, 4, Tac5 and Truck 1 responded with a total of 22 firefighters. Car 1, Car 2,Safety Car 5 and FM office also responded to the scene. On arrival, heavy fire wasvisible on the exterior wrap around porch and roof of the two-family structure, andfire was rapidly extending up the exterior entering the attic. The fire was undercontrol in approx. 30 minutes in part to an aggressive coordination of fire attackand roof ventilation.
