His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Westport Town Officials Train With Heros

“Walking a day in their shoes” took on a new meaning for Town of Westport elected officials.  For a good part of the day, two members of the Board of Finance and four members of the RTM traded their normal weekend clothes for firefighting gear as they participated in the Westport Fire Fighters Fire OPS 101. This program includes hands-on firefighting and rescue operations under controlled supervision of Westport’s professional fire fighters. Participants learned exactly how challenging it is to keep our communities safe. 1 Officer Injured As 2 Bridgeport Police Cars Damaged During Pursuit

9:22pm--#Bridgeport Connecticut--Police are still sorting out what occurred during a police pursuit that began on the Rout 8/25 connector at exit 3.  The gray Nissan that was being pursued got off exit 2 and went down Fairfield Avenue, to Washington Avenue.  The car and pursuit then entered I-95 exiting at 25 and ended on Martin Terrace at Monroe Street.  After a brief foot pursuit police got the suspect in custody.   Two police cars appeared to have collided near Krauser's on Fairfield Avenue.  The suspects car hit a police cruiser during the purist and the suspects car also was going down Fairfield Avenue the wrong way.  The officer was transported to St. Vincent's Hospital, his injuries and condition are not…

Westport Fire Gets New Equipment

The Westport Fire Department thanks the organizers of the Fairfield Half Marathon for their generous donation towards the purchase of new firefighting equipment. The Westport Fire Department has recently started the phase in project of 1 ¾” fire attack hose and new nozzles for all fire apparatus. This larger hose replaces the older 1 ½’’ hose and nozzles currently in service. LT Jeff Gootman is in charge of the project. The new equipment will improve our water flow from attack lines and enhance firefighting ability. Firefighters have been conducting training in the use of the new equipment. With larger homes being built over the last ten years, increased water flow is required on the initial attack lines for firefighting and these new hose lines will enable us…
