DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

Fairfield News: Leakage, Odor, Alarm

8:20pm--#cttraffic--#Fairfield CT--Firefighters on scene at the rest stop on I-95 Fairfield, northbound I believe, but not positives because DOT turned off the cameras, but leave them on for a rollover.  Go figure.  Any who there was an alarm, a report of leakage of a liquid under one of the doors and a smell of natural gas.  Firefighters reporting it is coming from the state police office.   Hang on to this number, many of you will need this in the morning!

Westport News: Hit and Run and Capture

On 02/05/16 at approximately 10:15am, Westport Officers responded to a Main Street address to serve an active warrant for William Boland. On 01/23/16, Boland reportedly drove his vehicle into the front of the restaurant Senor Salsa, 221 Post Road West. A witness observed Boland exit the vehicle, then get back in the vehicle and leave the scene. The witness wrote down the license plate number and gave it to the responding Officers. Approximately one week after the incident, the witness positively identified Boland in a photograph line up as the individual who crashed and fled the scene on 01/23/16. Boland wrote and signed a sworn statement denying that he was the operator of the vehicle. Boland posted the $500.00 bond and has a court date in Norwalk on…
