DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

STRATFORD LIBRARY OFFERS “DREAMING WITH DEPARTED”

The Stratford Library, 2203 Main Street in Stratford, CT will present an unusual holiday program “Dreaming with the Departed” on Tuesday, October 17 from 6:30-8 pm.  Dream teacher Adelita Chirino will host the special program which is free and open to the public.                              October is a magical month; a time of year leading up to Halloween and Dia de los Muertos, the holiday where traditionally indigenous ancestors honored those they love who are no longer in this physical waking life.  It is also a great time to contemplate dreams and how they might help one to understand death better. Dreaming with our departed allows us to stay connected to those we still love.    Chirino will share how dreams can be a bridge to connecting with the departed and many more…

Party in the Stacks: Where Mystery and Romance Meet

Party in the Stacks: Where Mystery and Romance Meet Saturday, October 21st,  7pm – 10pm at the library.   This year’s theme features the romantic mystery genre which includes a wide variety of books, movies and authors. Classics include ‘The Great Gatsby’, ‘Phantom of the Opera’, and ‘Murder on the Orient Express’. Guests will enjoy themed decor, music, dancing, themed hors d’oeuvres, signature drinks, and a vast array of silent auction and raffle baskets. Costumes optional. Warrant Results in Seized Firearms, Arrest of Bridgeport Man

#Bridgeport CT-- On 10/12/2023, at approximately 8:00 a.m., members of the State Urban Violence and Cooperative Crime Control Task Force, Statewide Narcotics Task Force, and the Bridgeport Violent Crimes Task Force executed a search warrant at an address on Perth Street in Bridgeport after detectives developed information indicating that a resident was illegally in possession of multiple firearms. During the investigation, it was learned that the resident, positively identified as Louis A. Feliciano, DOB 08/14/1985, was ineligible to possess firearms in the state of Connecticut. Detectives executing the search located and seized two (2) handguns, one (1) assault rifle, five (5) extended rifle magazines, two (2) extended pistol magazines, as well as ammunition and two (2) sets of body armor.…
