Westport Police Pursuit/DUI arrest
Just after midnight on 06/27/2014, Officer Simpson attempted to stop a motor vehicle for speeding. The vehicle initially stopped, but as Officer Simpson approached, it took off at a high rate of speed, engaging the officer in pursuit. After turning down a dead end street, the operator fled the vehicle and led the officer on a foot chase through a back yard. The suspect was successfully taken into custody after the use of a taser. The suspect was identified as Thomas Patterson, 41, of Weston, CT. Patterson later refused to submit to a breath test.
