Early morning fire destroys vehicle; damages house

#Monroe firefighters responded to a Winthrop Place residence around 1:50 am Saturday for a car fire reported to be near the home. On arrival, a Jeep Grand Cherokee parked in the driveway was engulfed in flames, just 8 feet from the side of the home. The heat from the fire also significantly damaged a second SUV parked next to it and melted several rows of vinyl siding on the home. The fire was contained by volunteer firefighters before it entered the house. Two adults and two children, warned about the fire by their barking dog, were able to evacuate safely. Racing thought to be the cause for accident

10:45pm--Bridgeport CT--Racing is thought to be the cause of a multi-car accident on Lincoln Avenue Friday night.  Witnesses told me that two brothers were racing when the crashed causing significant damage to four to five vehicles.   Considering all the damage it is remarkable there were no reported injuries and all involved medical treatment on scene.   Police continue to investigate the accident scene, if we get any updates we will update you on DoingItLocal.com. http://youtu.be/MuEXGCIiCi0
