#Bridgeport CT-- On April 7th, 2022, members of the Auto Theft Task Force working in conjunction with the DB executed three search and seizure warrants in the city. Kimani Williams, Aka “KO” was the person of interest in an active shooting case that occurred in Bridgeport on March 31st, 2022. Task Force Offices attempted to stop a Kia that Williams was the passenger in on Salem Avenue. During the motor vehicle stop the operator identified as Antonio Robinson refused to stop and revered into a Bridgeport Police car causing damage. Task Force Officers now boxed the vehicle in and ordered both occupants out of the car. Both Williams and Robinson refused to follow the Officers orders. While removing both males,…

On April 9Th, 2022 at approximately 4:00 am the Bridgeport Police Emergency Operations Center (EOC) received multiple 911 calls on reports of a shooting at the Bridgeport Innovative Center located at 955 Connecticut Avenue. Upon arrival, patrol officers located a 33-year-old victim identified as Michael Yon. Yon suffered from a gunshot wound to his body and was pronounced deceased on the scene by my medical personnel. The Bridgeport Police EOC received additional 911 calls regarding two more gunshot wound victims arriving at Bridgeport Hospital via private vehicle. Those two victims were found to have non-life-threatening injuries. Currently the Detective Bureau’s Homicide & Identification Units are actively investigating and processing the crime scene. GOVERNOR LAMONT SIGNS LEGISLATION EXPANDING ELIGIBILITY FOR ABSENTEE BALLOTS (HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Ned Lamont today announced that he has signed legislation (Public Act 22-2) expanding two of the six statutory reasons under which voters in Connecticut can qualify for an absentee ballot during an election, primary, or referendum by allowing out-of-town commuters and caretakers of those who are ill or have a disability to vote by absentee ballot.
