DoingItLocal is run by Steve Krauchick. Steve has always had interest with breaking news even as an early teen, opting to listen to the Watergate hearings instead of top 40 on the radio. His interest in news spread to become the communities breaking news leader in Connecticut’s Fairfield County. He strongly believes that the public has right to know what is happening in their backyard and that government needs to be transparent. Steve also likes promoting local businesses.

The Stratford Library will present a series of free, holiday concerts on consecutive Sunday afternoons in December live in the Library Lovell Room.  Seasonal favorites are on the menu for the series which will be held on Sundays, December 5, 12 and 19 at 2 pm.  The concerts are free and open to the public. The Bob Kolb Jazz Trio will kick-off the series on December 5.  Saxophonist Bob Kolb, pianist Dave Childs and bassist Steve Roane have extensive professional musical backgrounds playing in the tri-state area with the Trio and other musicians. Westport Police to Participate in Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Click It or Ticket Campaign

(Westport, CT11/19/2021) – The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced the start of the November 2021 Click It or Ticket campaign that aims to remind motorists and passengers to wear a seatbelt every time they drive or ride in a vehicle. With the Thanksgiving holiday almost upon us, Connecticut’s law enforcement agencies intend to promote safe driving and increase the protection of all motorists. Westport News: Chimney Fire

#Westport CT-- At approximately 7:30 pm on November 20, 2021, the Westport Fire Department wasdispatched to a report of a chimney fire. Upon the arrival of the Shift Commander flameswere seen coming from the roof of a large home. The call was immediately upgraded toa structure fire response, which received four engines, a ladder truck, and the ShiftCommander. The first arriving engine deployed an exterior attack line whilesimultaneously making entry into the house for an interior attack. The ladder truckarrived and began to deploy resources to the roof. Additional engines arrived to establisha water supply and backup the firefighters in the house. Firefighters inside encounteredsmoke on the second floor and worked to gain access to the fire.
